George Zimmerman is a Certified Arbitrator and Mediator leveraging more than forty years of experience resulting in successful dispute resolutions in excess of $7 Billion.

George developed and maintained partnerships with several law firms across the country to conduct successful arbitrations both as a sole arbiter or as part of a panel. Most notably, George was selected as a party appointed arbitrator serving to settle the largest reinsurance legal dispute in United States history amounting to $6.6 Billion.

Additionally, George has conducted more than 500 mediations for corporations, law firms, and other business entities, as well as individuals on a case-by-case basis. Prior to transitioning into the arbiter role held today, successfully operated Zimmerman Reinsurance Group providing reinsurance brokerage services as well as reinsurance underwriting services, grossing more than $10M in revenues with profitability greater than 22% annually. Zimmerman Reinsurance Group employed 61 employees with locations in New Jersey (corporate), Connecticut and California.

I would like to take this opportunity to second the nomination of George G. Zimmerman.

I am not a member or a certified arbitrator of ARIAS US, however, my insurance experience is extensive. Before being elected Governor of Nebraska in 1990, I served as General Counsel and then President of Central National Insurance Company, served as Executive Director of the NAIC, and was also appointed and served as Insurance Commissioner for the State of Nebraska. In private practice before being elected Governor, my specialty was insurance regulatory law and I had many national companies as clients. After serving two terms as Governor and before my election to the United States Senate, I continued my insurance regulatory law practice.

I have known George Zimmerman for over thirty years and worked extensively with him on reinsurance transactions, particularly when I was President of Central National Insurance Company. I never hesitated to make a contract with him because I knew his integrity was impeccable.

I have never heard of any complaints against him and have the utmost respect for his ability and knowledge of the reinsurance industry. I have confidence in his ability to arbitrate reinsurance disputes with knowledge of the pertinent laws and a fair mind.
